Where I live in Bethesda is nearby Garrett Park and lately my daughter I and some friends have been going there to visit Viers Mill Park.
I hadn't heard of Garrett Park prior to visiting some of the parks there, and I have to say its really starting to grow on me.
Garrett Park is my type of town:
- Mostly modest and well maintained houses (I'm not a fan of ostentatious houses - blech!)
- Medium density neighborhoods - the houses are close enough to be friendly, but not so close as to be crowded
- Windy roads with low speed limits
Since I don't live there, I can't attest to what type of community has evolved there, but based on how well the town was planned and is maintained, if I had to guess I'd bet its a very nice place to live and raise your kids.
I don't mean to discount Bethesda at all. Bethesda is a nice place too, but of course I do have my complaints! :-)
