After the recent extended blackouts we experienced at Parkside, I'm not surprised by the blackouts during this storm.
The power went out a few hours ago for about five minutes. Now its 10PM and the power has gone out again for about ten minutes, then came on briefly, but is now out again at 10:28PM.
I'd expected Bethesda to have better infrastructure! No doubt this type of storm is not a regular occurence.
NOTE: I'm able to blog during the blackout because I have a battery backup unit (BBU) installed for my router, but it probably won't last much longer. FIOS has a BBU too, thankfully.
Bethesda has a lot of above ground power lines and lots of trees. Combine those with snow and ice and you get power outages. I've never had a long winter power outage before last weekend, I hope I don't have another.
